We’ve had five years of wonderful memories, and so it’s bittersweet to let you know that 2022 is our final year working on sisterhood media.
We realize that our distribution company was very special to our community and family, and this isn’t a decision that we’ve taken lightly. Thank you so much to everyone who has purchased and supported sisterhood media TV – its success was a result of your ongoing support. Despite the challenges of the pandemic and new players coming into the streaming industry, we accomplished our goals of showcasing films but unfortunately we do not have the membership revenue to compete in the current subscription video-on-demand market.
We created a TV platform to host short films. We produced podcasts, hosted virtual and in person screenings. We interviewed some of the best and brightest in the industry. We collaborated with other film festivals and made opportunities for filmmakers, many whose careers we helped launch that far too often get overlooked in the industry. We are so grateful to all the artists, volunteers, film festivals, and partners who played a part in Sisterhood Media and – most importantly – to all of you who purchased our membership, perused our TV platform and enjoyed our events.
out of respect for our filmmakers, sisterhood media tv will remain live and available to watch until december 31, 2022.
Sisterhood Media was unique and felt really magical, and we hope you keep our vision in your lives beyond our time. There are so many fantastic filmmakers, festivals, and community-led distribution companies out there. We encourage you all to get involved, be supportive and create something new. We have the power to make an impact in our communities and if you’ve learned anything from us, we hope you continue to raise while you rise.
